Given that social responsibility is a set of duties and obligations in order to maintain and contribute to the community in which an organization operates and considering its importance as a new and effective approach to business, the Mapna Group has committed to its charter of social responsibility in the scope of its investment activities. Accordingly, the Mapna Group’s agenda includes investment in projects such as wind and solar projects, desalination, and converting simple cycle gas projects to combined cycle power plants. The measures that have been already taken in this field include the desalination project and its supply chain in Qeshm Island, Kahak Takestan’s wind power plant, and the registration of Ganaveh’s Combined Cycle Power Plant as the first CDM (Clean Development Mechanism) project by the United Nations. Moreover, Shirvan’s, Sanandaj’s and Jahrom’s combined cycle power plants have been registered as the only three CDM projects by Iran’s Ministry of Energy in recent years.

Clean Development Mechanism (CDM): CDM projects refer to projects conducted by developed countries to fulfill their obligations for reducing emissions and contributing to sustainable development in developing countries. In return, they receive Certified Emission Reduction (CER) credits issued by the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) Executive Board for emission reductions.
