Wagon Pars Company (WPCO) and MAPNA Multimodal Transportation Company (MMT) signed a contract for 300 high-sided wagons.
Heads of the two MAPNA Group subsidiaries inked the deal in a ceremony that was held in the presence of Ali Emam, director of MAPNA Mobility.
This contract is part of a plan to purchase 1,000 freight wagons from Wagon Pars Company, which is the largest producer of railway equipment in the country.
The plan was initiated by the conglomerate’s railway department in 2020, after acquiring the major company.
MAPNA Multimodal Transportation Company has already received 410 high-sided wagons for transporting grain from Pars Wagon Company.
The new contract was signed after a short break and the removal of financial obstacles.
The contract aims to enhance the capabilities of MMT as one of the largest rail operating companies in the field of cargo transportation, in line with the development policies of MAPNA’s rail sector.
