MAPNA Group showcased its latest advancements and solidified key partnerships at the 11th International Exhibition of Rail Transportation & Related Industries Equipment, dubbed “IRAN RAILEXPO 2024”.
The major event was held from May 18 to May 21.
More than 100 domestic companies and five foreign companies from China, Russia, India, and the Republic of Azerbaijan have participated in this exhibition to showcase their latest achievements and technologies in the railway industry.
Representatives of MAPNA Group also showcased the latest contributions of the conglomerate to the rail industry.
A highlight of the exhibition was the unveiling of two groundbreaking products by MAPNA Group: the MAP30 freight locomotive, and the MP610 diesel engine.
The products, which were recently unveiled in a ceremony attended by the country’s high-ranking officials, represent a substantial leap forward in addressing the nation’s growing rail fleet requirements.
MAPNA’s exhibit, located in halls 8 and 9, became a meeting ground for industry leaders, including officials from the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, urban rail organizations from major Iranian cities, and senior railway executives.
MAPNA Group’s booths also hosted international visitors from Algeria, Russia, Oman, and China, among others.
MAPNA Group subsidiaries finalized several contracts on the sidelines of the event.
Notable among these were the agreements for the construction of metro car bodies and bogies with the Tehran Wagon Company, the procurement of equipment for Shiraz metro lines II and III, and the transportation of 1.2 million tons of iron pellets from the Sangan complex in Mashhad to Pars Foolad Sabzevar Company.
Additionally, MAPNA Group companies signed a memorandum with Mobarakeh Steel Company to transport one million tons of raw materials and secured contracts for the monthly transport of concentrates and pellets with Arfa Iron and Steel Company, as well as a deal to move sulfur cargo from Turkmenistan to Bandar Abbas. The exhibition also served as a platform for diplomatic engagement, with the Algerian ambassador visiting MAPNA’s booth, leading to discussions on technology transfer.
