The Shahid Kaveh Power Plant of Qaen includes four gas-fueled units each with a capacity of 157.5 MWs (in total: 639 MWs) at ISO conditions.
The plant is located at 12th kilometer of Qaen-Mashhad road. All units have been synchronized to the national grid and received final acceptance certificate (FAC) from the client.
Thermal Power Plants Holding Company is the client of this project and Ghods Niroo Consulting Engineers Company serves as the consultant. Contractor of the project was MAPNA Power Plants Construction & Development Company.
Substation of Qaen Power Plant holds a capacity of 400 kvs. Engineering, procurement, and design of the power plant has been carried out by the client.
NIROO Consulting Engineers Company was the superintendent for the project.
The power plant can run on both gas and gasoil.
Gas is the primary fuel of the power plant, and gasoil serves as the alternative fuel.
The construction operation initiated in January 2007. By 2009, all units were synchronized to the national grid. By 2013, all units had received FAC.
