Shirvan Combined Cycle Power Plant

Project Specifications

Shirvan Combined Cycle Power Plant includes six gas-fueled V94.2 units each with a capacity of 159 MWs, and three steam units each with a capacity of 160 MWs under ISO conditions (totally 954 MWs). The gas-fueled units have been delivered to the client.
The power plant is located 9 kilometers off the city of Shirvan, on the sidelines of the Shirvan-Mashhad road. The 400-kv substation is designed, procured, and constructed by the client.
The poewr plant runs on gas, and can alternatively use gasoil.
Thermal Power Plants Holding Company is the client of this project and Ghods Niroo Consulting Engineers Company serves as the consultant.
MAPNA Power Plants Construction & Development Company and MAPNA Combined Power Plants Construction & Development Company were major contractors of the project for gas and steam units respectively.
The operational phase of the project initiated in May 2004. All units were synchronized to the national grid by 2007, and received final acceptance certificate (FAC) by 2009.

The steam unit of the power plant uses a Heller cooling tower.
Thermal Power Plants Holding Company is the client of the project and Moshanir serves as consultant.
