Iran’s Deputy Energy Minister and Head of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization (SATBA), Mahmoud Kamani, visited MAPNA Group’s wind turbine production plant in the outskirts of Karaj, Alborz Province.
Accompanied by senior SATBA managers, Kamani was received by MAPNA President Abbas Aliabadi and other senior officials, who presented the Group’s history, fields of activity, products and achievements.
The visiting delegation toured the factories of MAPNA Generator and Wind Turbine Engineering and Manufacturing Co. (PARS), and were briefed on the company’s capabilities in the key sector.
According to Kamani, “The Energy Ministry is planning for the construction of around 10,000 megawatts of renewable energy power plants to realize such a goal.”
The MAPNA President, for his part, expounded on the latest activities of the conglomerate in various industrial fields, especially the considerable achievements in the renewable energy sector.
Aliabadi explained MAPNA’s plans in the field of renewables, pointing to the Group’s focus on 2-megawatt and 2.5-megawatt wind turbines, as well as 4.5-megawatt wind turbines in the near future, and said that the development of renewable energy technologies will not only help achieve cleaner and more affordable electricity, but it will also pave the way for increased energy exports to neighboring countries.
MAPNA Group has taken firm steps in the field of design, engineering and implementing renewable projects such as wind, solar, geothermal, waves, and biomass power plants under various investment schemes. It is currently taking measures to sell products in the global market without CO2 emission under Clean Development Mechanism Scheme (CDM).
