MAPNA’s MD-1 Receives Technical Engineering License from Industry Ministry

MAPNA Power Plants Construction & Development Company (MD-1) has received a technical engineering license from Iran’s Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade.

The Ministry granted the technical license to the leading power plant company following a thorough review of its engineering technical documents.

MD-1, a knowledge-based company, underwent numerous assessments by inspectors of the Ministry. The license, valid for three years, was issued in June 2024.

The company had earlier obtained similar licenses from the country’s Planning and Budget Organization, allowing it to provide various services to customers in the past years. With a policy change regarding the organization that issues the permit, the MD-1 successfully passed all the assessments to secure the new permit.

As per the new license, MD-1 is currently authorized to offer engineering services in three key areas: 1) electricity, electronics, control, and automation industries, 2) water and wastewater treatment, and 3) developing equipment for power plants.

MD-1 is the largest contractor of gas power plants in Iran, as the construction and commissioning of 145 gas and combined cycle power plant units with an overall capacity of more than 23000 MW have been assigned to the company.

It offers full services in the fields of BoP electricity and mechanic islands of thermal power plants, cooling services and water treatment, power transmission and distribution, CHP, DG, renewable energies, and small-scale plants in domestic and international markets. Based on its R&D insights, the company also has plans for innovation and an appropriate response to new challenges in the energy industry.
