MAPNA Oil and Gas Development Company has activated three new wells in the Danan oil field, boosting the oil production by 7,000 barrels per day.
The three wells, numbered 16, 17, and 18, are part of a project to enhance and sustain the production of the Danan oil field, which is located in Ilam province, west of Iran.
The three wells were launched on August 31 and September 2, 2023, bringing the total number of wells completed in the project to seven.
MAPNA Drilling Company has finished the drilling operation of 11 wells.
The remaining four wells are expected to be finished and activated by early 2024, adding a total of 10,000 barrels per day to the production capacity of the field.
MAPNA Group and Iranian Central Oil Fields Company signed a contract for improved oil recovery (IOR) in Danan Oil Field in January 2019.
MAPNA Drilling Company is in charge of all the engineering, procurement and drilling (EPD) operations of the project.
MAPNA Group’s tasks also include the design and execution of acid fracturing operations, and geophysical services (3D seismic survey, data processing, and interpretation) in an area of 230 square kilometers, as well as skid mounted desalination with a capacity of 10,000 bpd, and construction of a 55-km pipeline.
Danan Oil field was discovered in 2007 and started production in 2014.
The field’s oil is transferred to Dehloran processing unit for sweetening and compression, before being sent to Cheshmeh Khosh desalination complex via a 16-inch pipeline with a length of 52 kilometers.
