First Gas Unit of MAPNA-Built Power Plant Launched in NE Iran

The first gas unit of Rashed Torbat Heydarieh Combined Cycle Power Plant, developed by MAPNA Group, was inaugurated on September 28, 2023.

The power plant is located near Torbat Heydarieh, Khorasan Razavi Province. It consists of two MAP2B gas turbines with a capacity of 183 MW each, a steam turbine with a capacity of 180 MW, two heat recovery steam generators (HRSG), an ACC cooling system, a 400 Kv substation and a 6.5-kilometer transition line.

It was launched in the presence of senior officials including Davoud Manzour, the head of Iran’s Planning and Budget Organization (PBO).

Manzour, who is also the deputy president of Iran, praised the capabilities of Iranian experts and said that Iran is among the top 10 countries in the world in power plant development. He said that Iranian experts have carried out various power projects inside and outside Iran.

He expressed his pride in launching the power plant and hoped that the two remaining units would be operational soon. He also hailed the power plant as an important achievement that has brought turbines, transmission lines, and gas to the region with heavy investment. He said that this would play a major role in the development of infrastructure in the province. The client of the project is Rashed Torbat Heydarieh Power Generation Co. and the consultant is Ghods Niroo.
