The synchronization of the second gas turbine unit of Sabzevar Power Plant brought the total capacity of the plant’s gas section to 366 megawatts online, supplying electricity to over 395,000 households. This estimate is based on an average monthly electricity consumption of 300 kWh per household.
This achievement increases power generation capacity, improves national grid stability, and meets the growing demand for energy in northeastern Iran.
Sabzevar Power Plant comprises two MAP2B gas turbine units each with a capacity of 183 megawatts, a three-pressure steam turbine unit with a capacity of 180 megawatts, and a 400-kV substation.
With the commissioning of this unit, the number of power plant units synchronized by MAPNA Power Plants Construction & Development Company (MD-1) has reached 170, bringing the company’s total synchronized capacity to 23,278 megawatts.
The power plant is located near Sabzevar city on the Sabzevar-Shahroud road, northeast Iran. The project’s client and investor is Ofogh Tosé Energy Khalij Fars Company and Moshanir serves as the consultant.
