Notable accomplishments in this realm include the successful execution of the desalination project and its integrated supply chain on Qeshm Island, the establishment of the Kahak wind farm, and the prestigious recognition of Genaveh’s Combined Cycle Power Plant as the first Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) project registered by the United Nations. Moreover, MAPNA Group takes great pride in having several combined cycle power plants across the country registered as the sole CDM projects by Iran’s Ministry of Power in recent years.

Clean Development Mechanism (CDM)

CDM projects represent the proactive engagement of developed nations in fulfilling their emissions reduction commitments while concurrently supporting sustainable development efforts in developing countries. Through these projects, developed countries make substantial contributions to curbing greenhouse gas emissions. In recognition of their efforts, the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) Executive Board issues Certified Emission Reduction (CER) credits to these countries, providing tangible acknowledgment for their successful emission reduction endeavors.
