Wind Turbine Gearbox
The PS3 VF 146 wind turbine gearbox is a planetary gearbox that is produced by MAPNA Turbine Engineering and Manufacturing Company (TUGA) for MAPNA-developed 2.5 MW wind turbines, under the license of Zollern, Germany. This gearbox transfers and increases the rotation of the wind turbine rotor to connect to the electricity generator. The PS3 VF 146 gearbox has three stages, two of which are planetary and the third one is helical. It is used in MAPNA FL2500 turbines with a rotor diameter of 103 meters and a power generation frequency of 50 Hz. This equipment is usually installed in the nacelle of the wind turbine at a height from the ground.
