EV Propulsion Development and Production

Project Specifications

MAPNA Group and domestic carmaker Kerman Motor Company struck a deal in January 2021 to cooperate on “development of EV technical knowledge and design” and “production of EV propulsion”. As per the deal, MECO and Bam Khodro, a Kerman Motor subsidiary, will establish a joint venture for the design and manufacture of A- and B-class electric vehicles and the development of relevant technologies.
Accordingly, MECO will be tasked to manufacture 37,000 battery packs and propulsion equipment, including engine, transmission system, driver, and charging system in five years. The prospective model is predicted to have a mileage of 250 kilometers with one charge. The EV will have the maximum speed of 160 km/h and the acceleration from 0 to 100 in less than 10 seconds. It is also capable of using both slow- and fast-charging stations.
