MAPNA Group has successfully launched for the first time a portable system for testing commercial aircraft engines.
Designed and manufactured by Iranian experts, the system was unveiled during the 11th edition of the Iran International Airshow & Aerospace Exhibition which took place on Kish Island on December 13-16, 2022.
One of the important sections of such a testing system is handle the engine control unit (ECU) and required communication protocols. MAPNA Group’s aviation division made this possible by relying on localized know-how about designing engines as well as dominance over control units.
Carried out with an R&D aim, this mission led to MAPNA Group’s first-ever testing of a commercial aircraft engine using a mobile stand, fuel system, and control unit. The tested engine has been repaired by conglomerate experts and belongs to the country’s passenger fleet.
As far as the control over the engine is concerned, this system simulates the environment and operation of the cockpit.
This system enables the experts to test engines for required standards under various environmental conditions such as those carried out for airworthiness certificates or conditions such as high altitude, humid regions, cold weather, etc.
MAPNA Group’s air division has a good understanding of the existing challenges in the country’s aviation industry and will try to answer these needs by relying on domestic capacities and infrastructure while also seeking to open new horizons for exporting technical and engineering services to regional countries.
