Iran’s Novin Mahan Launches Its First All-Electric Crossover Car

Iran's Novin Mahan Electric Vehicle, a joint venture between Kerman Automative Industrial Company and MAPNA Electric & Control Engineering & Manufacturing Company (MECO), has introduced its first product to the market: the Skywell (Nebka) ET5.

The new all-electric crossover car was unveiled at a ceremony held at Tehran International Permanent Fairground on October 30, 2023.
The Skywell (Nebka) ET5 is a result of the cooperation between Novin Mahan and the Chinese automaker Skywell, which provided the design and technology for the vehicle.
The Skywell (Nebka) ET5 is the first connected car in Iran, meaning that it can communicate with servers at MECO and Nebka and have its health and conditions monitored online.
This electric vehicle has many features that enhance its safety, comfort, and performance. Some of the safety features are hill start assist, adaptive cruise control, 360-degree camera and automatic high beam, PM2.5 air filter, very comfortable seats, eye-catching lighting, good quality cabin components, good range, and good safety and comfort facilities.
In a press conference following the ceremony, managers from MECO and Novin Mahan provided further details about the new product and their cooperation.
Pouya Salari, CEO of Novin Mahan Electric Vehicle, noted that the company was established with the main mission of producing electric vehicles and manufacturing the required parts inside the country.
“Nebka ET5 will initially be offered in SKD (Semi-Knocked Down) form in Iran. Later and with the growth of its popularity, MECO will localize the production of battery pack, electric drive, and control systems, while Kerman Automotive Industries Group will handle the domestication of other system parts,” he added.
Adel Dameshghi, deputy CEO of MECO, noted that the car features a 72 kWh battery capacity and is equipped with an electric motor that delivers 204 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque.
As the inaugural offering from Nebka, the vehicle comes with an 8-year warranty on the battery, he said, adding that ET5 boasts an impressive range of 520 kilometers on a single battery charge, and its fast charging capability allows for a quick recharge in approximately 35 minutes.
This electric vehicle has a driver assistance system that offers many advanced features to enhance the safety and convenience of the driver, including, driver drowsiness detection, automatic parking, blind spot sensors, automatic emergency braking, road sign recognition, and lane departure warning.
