The first gas unit of Rashed (Torbat-e Heydarieh) Combined Cycle Power Plant was synchronized to the national grid on September 8, 2022.

Rashed Combined Cycle Power Plant consists of two 183-MW gas-fired units, powered by MAPNA Group’s MAP2B turbines, and a steam turbine with a nominal capacity of 180 MWs. The power plant will have an overall power of 546 MWs upon completion.

The operations for constructing the power plant started in late January 2019, in Torbat-e Heydarieh, Razavi Khorasan Province.

The power plant aims to supply a stable source of electricity for Razavi Khorasan Province, and can serve as a hub for electricity export to neighboring countries.

MAPNA Power Plants Construction & Development Company (MD-1) has served as the EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) contractor of the project.

This was the 186th unit synchronized by MD-1 in its history and its eighth synchronized one this year (starting from March 21, 2022).

Rashed Torbat-e-Heydarieh Electrical Company is the client of the project while Ghods Niroo serves as its consultant.

The power plant is located in an area of 123 acres, 12 kilometers northeast of Torbat-e Heydarieh city.
