Head of Iran Railways Lauds MAPNA Capabilities During Visit

The head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways (RAI) took a tour of MAPNA Group, hailing the potential of the conglomerate in various fields, especially in the rail sector.

The head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways (RAI) took a tour of MAPNA Group, hailing the potential of the conglomerate in various fields, especially in the rail sector.

Seyed Miad Salehi made the visit on Wednesday, August 24, 2022.

Salehi, who is also Deputy Iranian Transport and Urban Development Minister, was briefed about the capabilities of the knowledge-based group in fields such as power plant equipment, development of metro lines across the country, manufacturing railway fleet, locomotives, and wagons, development of electric vehicle charging stations and their required infrastructure, and development of electric vehicles.

During the meeting, MAPNA Group President Abbas Aliabadi touched upon the technical knowledge of the conglomerate in the rail sector, noting that it enjoys the readiness and capacity for entering bigger fields and engaging in effective cooperation.

MAPNA Group is working on technologies needed for digitalization and electrification, he said elsewhere, adding that using electric vehicles bears great importance for diversifying energy resources and increasing efficiency.

For his part, Salehi praised the capabilities and technical knowledge of MAPNA Group, adding, “We can overcome weaknesses of the country’s rail industry through joint and operational cooperation between the two bodies.”

The delegation visited a number of MAPNA Group subsidiaries located in Alborz province including MAPNA Turbine Engineering and Manufacturing Company (TUGA), MAPNA Electric & Control Engineering & Manufacturing Company (MECO), Alborz Turbine, MAPNA Turbine Blade Engineering, and Manufacturing Company (PARTO), and MAPNA Generator Engineering and Manufacturing Company (PARS).
