MAPNA Locomotive Engineering and Manufacturing Company (MLC), has been assigned to carry out the LRV project for Mashhad Metro upon the megacity’s need to adopt modern means of transport. The MLC is planning to manufacture the LRV rom using domestically-built equipment. The LRV will be supplied by an DC/750V overhead catenary system. LRVs usually have fewer wagons than subway trains, which is advantageous for achieving speedy and cost-effective transportation. The Mashhad LRVs will be equipped with three wagons with a total length of 30 meters.
