MAPNA Group has obtained a final acceptance certificate (FAC) for the permanent delivery of the steam unit of Kahnuj Combined Cycle Power Plant.

MAPNA Combined Cycle Power Plants Construction & Development Company (MD-2), the executor of the project, received the certificate on August 7, 2024.

With the delivery of the unit, MD-2 has now received the final acceptance certificate (FAC) for 124 units across the country with an aggregate capacity of 19,345 MW.

Kahnuj Power Plant represents the largest private sector investment in southern Kerman province, ensuring reliable electricity for both residential and industrial use across the southeastern provinces. One of its primary objectives is to enhance voltage regulation, as well as to fortify the distribution and transmission network in southeastern Kerman.

Environmental sustainability is a key feature of this power plant. It aims to minimize environmental impact by eliminating harmful chemicals, utilizing a smoke analysis system to reduce pollutant emissions, and planting 12,660 seedlings.

The construction of this power plant has directly employed an average of 500 people, and its operation will continue to generate jobs in this underdeveloped region.

Located 15 km along the Kahnuj-Jiroft road in southern Kerman province, Kahnuj Combined Cycle Power Plant project includes a combined cycle block with a total capacity of 484 MW (2 x 162 MW GTG + 1 x 160 MW STG). The main equipment comprises a V94.2 gas turbine (Version 5), an E Type steam turbine (E30-16-1-1 x 6.3), a heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) with supplementary firing, and an ACC cooling system.

Mahtaab Gostar Kahnuj Power Generation Company served as the project’s client while Wala Energy Engineering Company was its engineering consultant.
