MAPNA Group Signs Deal to Manufacture Iran’s First Home-Made 136-Ton Dump Truck

MAPNA Group and the National Iranian Copper Industries Company (NICICO) have signed a contract to engineer and construct the first 136-ton AC-AC electromechanical dump truck.

The 18-month project will utilize the capacities of MAPNA Group’s subsidiary factories and knowledge-based companies, with an estimated 65% of the components being locally produced.

The project was initially defined and started by MAPNA Combined Cycle Power Plants Construction & Development Company (MD-2), before being transferred to MAPNA Locomotive Engineering and Manufacturing Company (MLC).

High-capacity dump trucks (over 100 tons) are increasingly transitioning from hydromechanical to electromechanical systems.

This marks the first time such a strategic product for the mining industry is being engineered and produced domestically in Iran.

Dump trucks are massive vehicles designed for off-road use, primarily in mining operations. They are used to transport materials such as gravel, sand, rocks, and mining waste. Mining dump trucks are distinguished by their large capacity and durability, designed to navigate the challenging terrain of mining sites. These trucks are essential for efficiently transporting high volumes of materials, contributing significantly to mining operations.
