The final acceptance certificate (FAC) for the unit was delivered to MAPNA Power Plants Construction & Development Company (MD-1) on April 16, 2025.
With a nominal capacity of 160 megawatts, the new steam unit is capable of supplying electricity to over 345,000 households, based on an average consumption of 300 kilowatts per household.
This addition marks a significant step in bolstering the region’s power infrastructure.
The Asaluyeh Combined Cycle Power Plant project operates under a Build-Own-Operate (BOO) agreement between Thermal Power Plants Holding Company and MAPNA Asaluyeh Power Generation Company.
The project encompasses three E-type steam turbine generator units, each with a capacity of 160 megawatts, along with heat recovery steam generators, auxiliary systems, and a dedicated substation.
The plant is located approximately 25 kilometers from the South Pars Special Economic Zone near Bostanu village in Bushehr Province.
The commissioning of this unit brings the total number of permanently delivered units by MD-1 to 134, contributing a combined capacity of 17,872 megawatts to the national grid.
The project’s consultant is Ghods Niroo Engineering Company.
