Signed on Saturday, the Memorandum of Understanding aims to improve the quality of shared responsibilities and missions and to develop scientific and research cooperation in related technical fields.
The MoU was signed by Ghazal Raheb, Head of the Road, Housing and Urban Development Research Center, and Mohammad Owliya, President and Vice Chairman of the Board of MAPNA Group. It was drafted to promote joint missions and expand cooperation in specialized areas.
According to the MoU, the two parties will offer scientific, research, educational and operational services in energy, transportation, construction, housing, architecture, urban development and other relevant areas, in line with their statutes and national policy documents.
The MoU emphasizes consultation and cooperation in developing, revising and upgrading regulations, standards and legal requirements for the use of solar energy in electricity supply, heating and cooling of residential, commercial, administrative and public buildings.
It also includes monitoring, assessing and optimizing energy consumption; improving thermal comfort in buildings; installing energy assessment systems; and localizing and designing low-energy, green and sustainable buildings.
The two organizations will work together on technical guidelines and requirements in technology-driven areas, including electric vehicle charging, electrical equipment and charging systems for buildings and roads.
Strengthening the national strategic technology laboratory network, especially in rail transport, and exploring future technologies such as artificial intelligence, augmented reality and smart systems in road, housing and urban development are also key areas of cooperation.
Other provisions cover the development of regulations, guidelines and technical standards in shared fields, especially rail and air fleet and infrastructure. The parties will study and assess the feasibility of issuing technical certificates for technology-based products and services, as well as designing and constructing model knowledge-based buildings focused on energy storage systems and the use of renewable energy such as solar water heaters and geothermal systems.
The MoU also includes consultation and collaboration to facilitate investment and production of safety equipment and intelligent transportation and building systems. It calls for identifying and engaging relevant knowledge-based companies to meet specialized needs, particularly in rail and air transport.
The two sides will also organize training workshops, expert meetings, seminars and joint national and international conferences to enhance scientific and industrial cooperation.
The signing ceremony was attended by senior managers of MAPNA Group and the Road, Housing and Urban Development Research Center. After the ceremony, attendees visited various laboratory halls at the Research Center.
