Project Overview

The drilling and completion of 11 wells in the Danan Oil Field, managed by MAPNA Drilling Company and commissioned by the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company, represented MAPNA Group’s first EPDS project execution.

Carried out over three years despite multiple challenges, the project was successfully completed in 2022 (Persian calendar year 1401). It stands as evidence of MAPNA’s technical and managerial competence, effective utilization of local resources, and the expertise of its skilled personnel.

Drilling and completion operations achieved 330 consecutive LTI-free days (Lost Time Injury) while fully complying with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements—an important milestone in the company’s operational record.

Geographical Location

Ilam Province — approximately 30 km southeast of Dehloran and 80 km northwest of Andimeshk.

Production Capacity

The wells were drilled vertically, with final depths ranging from 3,500 to 3,800 meters. Achieving the client’s expected production rate, the wells made a significant contribution to increasing the field’s oil output.

Technical Specifications
  • Use of three drilling rigs: two company-owned and one rented rig
  • Drilling and completion of 11 new wells, with MAPNA Drilling Company providing engineering, procurement, and technical support services in cooperation with other contractors

Achievements and Records
  • Best record for drilling and completing a single well: 107 days (Well No. 18)
  • Highest instantaneous production rate: over 3,000 barrels per day (Well No. 15)
  • Optimized drilling operations achieving the highest drilling speed among all wells
  • Simultaneous operation of three active rigs with continuous supervision of drilling service companies
Project Commencement

The operational (subsurface) phase of the project began on February 3, 2020 (1398/11/14) with the mobilization of the Noor-2 drilling rig on Well No. 10. Drilling operations were successfully completed on July 27, 2025 (1404/05/05).

Current Project Status

All 11 wells have been successfully drilled and completed. The project’s outcomes include increased oil production, record-setting drilling and completion performance, and full compliance with safety and environmental standards.
