According to Iran’s Thermal Power Plants Holding Company (TPPH), the assessment monitored power plant performance from June 5 to September 6, 2026. Goharan Power Plant was named the top performer in the combined cycle category, achieving 100 percent of its generation target. In the large gas-fired power plant category, South Isfahan and Mahtab Kavir plants were selected as top performers, achieving 99.9 percent and 99.7 percent of their generation targets, respectively.
In addition, Hara Qeshm, Genaveh, Jahrom, Sanandaj, Samangan, Sarv, Parand and Neyshabour power plants achieved top rankings in the combined cycle category, while Arian Zanjan and Rashed power plants ranked among the top performers in the gas-fired category. In small power plant category, Zarand achieved a top ranking with over 95 percent of its generation target achieved.
The performance assessment was based on the generation readiness index, with a focus on the actual performance of generating units and operational efficiency. The inclusion of power plants operated by MAPNA Power Plant Services Company among the country’s top-performing plants demonstrates the company’s technical and operational capabilities in the sustainable management and operation of Iran’s thermal power plants.
