Considering the Iran railway sector’s need for shunting locomotives, MLC has started the design, engineering, and construction of shunting locomotive prototypes. The conceptual design of these locomotives by MAPNA experts is in the final stages. MAP06 is a four-axle locomotive with two bogies. One of the construction features of this locomotive is the ability to increase the freight weight capacity based on customers’ needs. The majority of the parts and components of MPA30 will be manufactured by MAPNA factories. Once operational, the locomotive is expected to roll on both urban and intercity rail tracks.
