Uzbekistan’s Energy Minister Visits MAPNA Group’s Industrial Complexes in Iran

Uzbekistan’s Energy Minister, Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov, spearheaded a delegation’s tour of MAPNA Group’s manufacturing facilities in Iran’s Alborz Province on Monday, March 4, 2024.

Accompanied by Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade, Abbas Aliabadi, and MAPNA Group President, Mohammad Owliya, Mirzamakhmudov gained insights into the conglomerate’s diverse industrial achievements and expertise.

The visit, which also included the Uzbek ambassador to Tehran and senior Uzbek energy officials, encompassed several key divisions of MAPNA Group. These included the MAPNA Turbine Engineering and Manufacturing Company (TUGA), the MAPNA Turbine Blade Engineering and Manufacturing Company, the MAPNA Generator Engineering and Manufacturing Company (PARS), the MAPNA Electric & Control Engineering & Manufacturing Company (MECO), as well as the group’s electrification and aircraft engine maintenance sectors.

Mirzamakhmudov lauded MAPNA Group’s technological prowess and discussed potential collaborative ventures, particularly in the realm of electrification.

The two sides’ discussions revolved around enhancing industrial initiatives, catering to market demands, and fostering technology localization and transfer.

According to the Iran Trade Promotion Organization, Uzbekistan is one of Iran’s 15 export target countries, and the trade volume between the two countries in 2023 was more than 500 million dollars.
