MAPNA Synchronizes First Steam Unit of Tous Power Plant to the National Grid

The first steam unit of Tous (Ferdowsi) Combined Cycle Power Plant was synchronized to the grid on Thursday, September 17, 2020, by MAPNA Group technicians.

The first steam unit of Tous (Ferdowsi) Combined Cycle Power Plant was synchronized to the grid on Thursday, September 17, 2020, by MAPNA Group technicians.

Located at the 25th kilometer of Mashhad-Quchan road in the northeastern Khorasan Province, the steam portion of Tous Power Plant includes three steam units each with a capacity of 160 MWs.

The scope of the project includes installation of three E-type steam turbines and generators with a nominal capacity of 160 MWs, six HRSGs, three ACC cooling system units, BOP (balance of plant), a 230-kv power transmission line and generator station.

MAPNA Power Plant Construction and Development Company (MD-1) is executing the project under an EPC scheme. The homegrown MAPCS control system, developed by MAPNA Electric & Control Engineering & Manufacturing Company (MECO), is used in the project.

A private power plant owned by MAPNA Group, Tous (Ferdowsi) Power Plant is operated by MAPNA Tous Power Generation Company.

Development of the steam portion of Tous Power Plant is carried out under a buyback contract signed with Power Ministry’s Thermal Power Plant Holding Company.
