MAPNA Group to Supply MSC with 50 Advanced Locomotives

MAPNA Group has signed a contract to provide 50 advanced MAP24-1 locomotives to Mobarakeh Steel Company (MSC).

MAPNA Group has signed a contract to provide 50 advanced MAP24-1 locomotives to Mobarakeh Steel Company (MSC).

The agreement was inked on Sunday February 7, 2022, by MAPNA President Abbas Aliabadi and MSC Head Mohammad-Yaser Tayyebnia, in a ceremony attended by President Ebrahim Raeisi and Industry, Mining, and Trade Minister Reza Fatemi Amin.

As per the deal, MAPNA Group is obliged to deliver the locomotives to Mobarakeh Steel Company within two years.

MAP24-1 locomotive, designed and manufactured by MAPNA Locomotive Engineering and Manufacturing Company (MLC), is equipped with a turbocharged 16-cylinders diesel engine, 3300 HP nominal power, therefore it is considered a diesel-electric locomotive. The driver’s desk was designed and manufactured based on best ergonomic conditions in order to provide much more facilities and comfortability for locomotive’s driver.

MAPNA Group has divided the design and production stages of the locomotive into five main sections and several sub-sections across its factories to accelerate the production process. These five main sections include design and production of the chassis and car body of the locomotive, the bogies, the power and control system, the power transmission system, and the braking system.
