MAPNA Temporarily Delivers First Gas Unit of Khorramabad Combined Cycle Power Plant

MAPNA Group has provisionally handed over the first gas unit of the Khorramabad Combined Cycle Power Plant – a significant milestone in the plant's phased development.

On September 8, 2025, MAPNA Group received the provisional acceptance certificate (PAC) for the first gas-fired unit of the plant’s second block, following the concerted efforts of MAPNA specialists.

The Khorramabad Combined Cycle Power Plant is being built to enhance Iran’s power stability and address electricity shortfalls. The project is financed by Khorramabad Power Generation Company and led by MAPNA Group as the main contractor.

The execution is carried out by MAPNA Combined Cycle Power Plants Construction & Development Company (MD-2), with strong support from MAPNA’s manufacturing divisions.

With this provisional handover, MD-2 has delivered a total of 128 power units, supplying the national grid with around 20,196 MW of generation capacity.

The facility is located about 10 km from Khorramabad city in Lorestan Province. It comprises a combined cycle block including two gas turbines (each 183 MW) and one steam turbine (180 MW).

Beyond boosting electricity supply, the project is expected to stimulate regional economic growth. It aims to create jobs, build local technical skills, strengthen infrastructure, and enable reliable power access for industries and businesses.
