MAPNA’s Renewable Energy Solutions: A Glimpse into 13th Int’l Renewables Expo

MAPNA Group showcased its latest research, innovations, and accomplishments at the 13th International Exhibition of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency.

Held at the Tehran Permanent International Fairgrounds on January 22-25, 2024, the exhibition comes amid the expansion of the market for renewable energy in the country and the reduction of costs of related equipment worldwide.

During the exhibition, a memorandum of understanding was inked between MAPNA Group and Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization (SATBA), focusing on the localization of inverters produced by MAPNA Electric & Control Engineering & Manufacturing Company (MECO).

Additionally, MAPNA Group organized four specialized panels on power electronics, including solar inverters and wind converters, wind energy and turbines, energy storage, and value chain of solar energy. These panels aimed to enhance the knowledge of customers and stakeholders.

Moreover, MAPNA Group held a conference sharing insights into the successful construction of Mil Nader Wind Farm and its ability to overcome challenging environmental conditions.

According to Yavar Anani, CEO of MAPNA Renewable Energy Production Company, the company’s focus on providing comprehensive solutions was one of the key highlights of the exhibition. This underscores MAPNA Group’s capacity to provide holistic solutions, due to its broad expertise and involvement in diverse business sectors related to energy.

From Feasibility Studies to Project Execution

MAPNA Group is well-prepared to handle the entire spectrum of renewable energy projects, from feasibility studies to project completion under the EPC phase. Moreover, the company provides opportunities for investment, installation, commissioning, operation, and the supply of locally manufactured equipment.

Notable among these are wind turbines produced by MAPNA Generator Engineering and Manufacturing Company (PARS), inverters developed by MAPNA Electric & Control Engineering & Manufacturing Company (MECO), solar panels manufactured by Pak Atiyeh Company, and energy storage solutions from MIDHCO Company.

According to Anani, the growth of the renewable energy market, particularly solar energy, is a direct result of the increased attention given to this sector by policy makers.

Anani highlighted the provisions of Article 12 of the “Law on Removing Obstacles to Production” and Article 16 of the “Knowledge-Based Leap Production Law”, along with the announced capacities in the country and the tenders held for investment and construction, as key drivers of the expansion of solar and wind energy utilization. He emphasized that renewable energy is an indispensable solution for addressing the energy imbalance.

In an interview with MAPNA Group press service, he further added: “The cost of renewable energy equipment, particularly solar photovoltaic cells, has declined significantly both globally and domestically. In many parts of the world, the competitiveness of solar energy with fossil fuels has become a clear and real possibility.”

Future Plans in the Renewable Energy Sector

According to Anani, MAPNA’s capabilities in the wind energy sector is a testament to its expertise and capabilities. The company is now expanding its reach into the solar energy domain, where it has already achieved notable success. The conglomerate’s upcoming plans in the renewable energy sector involve operating 430 megawatts of solar energy capacity across five construction sites in Kerman, Isfahan, and Yazd provinces. With numerous tenders underway for solar, wind, and small-scale electric energy projects in Iran, the expectation is that the scope of activities in this field will continue to expand.
