The CEO of Neyr Perse Company predicts that the major project of South Pars Phase 14 will be temporarily delivered to the client by the end of this Iranian calendar year (ending on March 20, 2025).
“Neyr Perse Company, as the representative of MAPNA Group in the project, completed South Pars Phase 13, and we anticipate that Phase 14 will be provisionally delivered to the client this year,” Mohammad Reza Parsapour said.
The contract for the development of phase 14 of the South Pars project was signed between Pars Oil and Gas Company as the client and a consortium comprising MAPNA, Marine Facilities Engineering and Construction, National Drilling, Payandan, Industrial Projects Management of Iran, ISOICO, Arak Machine Manufacturing Company, and Industrial Development & Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO) as the leader of the consortium.
MAPNA Company is engaged in engineering, procurement, construction, erection, and running of compressor and metering stations, sulfur recovery and granule making units, power distribution, steam generation and distribution units, fuel supply systems, supply and distribution of service and precision tool air, production and storage of nitrogen, facilities for the transfer of sea water, booster pumps, water packages, diesel, cooling water packages, treatment of water and waste water, chemicals and sulfur storage tanks, and electrical systems. Further information about MAPNA-developed units at this project is available here.
About Isfahan Refinery Project
Parsapour also touched upon the ongoing project at Isfahan Refinery, noting that the project is in its “final stages.”
“The optimization unit of this refinery is a new section that has been added to the old refinery,” he said, adding, “Neyr Perse Company has been conducting the utility section of this project, which is in its final stages.”
MAPNA Group’s scope of activities in this project includes construction work, procurement of equipment, erection of running units, production and distribution of electricity and steam, water supply, servicing and precision tool air, bridging of nitrogen processing and distribution units, water and industrial waste water treatment units, construction of refinery storage tanks, and execution of relevant constructional projects.
South Pars pressure-boosting project important for MAPNA
Elsewhere in his remarks, Parsapour said that the project of boosting pressure at the South Pars Gas field has “national” importance because of its role in the country’s energy security and that it is “important” for MAPNA Group.
He was referring to major documents that Iran’s Oil Ministry signed with domestic contractors, including MPNA Group, on March 10, 2024, to boost pressure in the South Pars gas field, which the country jointly shares with Qatar.
The agreements entail a total investment of $20 billion for the pressure-boosting project, which anticipates a 90 trillion cubic feet increase in gas extraction and a 2 billion barrel rise in condensate recovery from the field. This is expected to generate $900 billion in revenue for the nation.
MAPNA Group, an approved contractor by the Oil Ministry, is responsible for one of the seven hubs within this project, Parsapour said.
“Currently, the contract for the pressure-boosting initiative is in its preliminary stage. Once the final contract is signed, Neyr Perse Company will have 38 months to complete the project,” he added. During negotiations with the National Iranian Oil Company, it was agreed that MAPNA Group subsidiary companies would produce the necessary turbocompressors and turbogenerators for this national project, he said.
