Deputy Minister of Roads Visits MAPNA’s Locomotive Production Facilities

Iran’s Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development took a tour of MAPNA Locomotive Engineering and Manufacturing Company.

Jabbar Ali Zakeri, who is also the CEO of Islamic Republic of Iran Railways (RAJA), made the visit on November 2, 2024. He was accompanied by MAPNA Group President Mohammad Owliya and Ali Emam, head of MAPNA Mobility.

Zakeri reviewed the company’s capabilities in equipment manufacturing, production lines, metro development across the country, and the maintenance and enhancement of the rail fleet and locomotives.

During a meeting, Owliya emphasized MAPNA’s advanced technical expertise in rail systems, highlighting the company’s competitiveness with major global industries.

“MAPNA holds a solid position in the rail sector, as it does in its other business areas, and is fully prepared to expand into larger fields and engage in productive partnerships,” he stated.

For his part, Zakari underscored the need for collaborative efforts with railway experts to improve the country’s rail fleet.

He highlighted the importance of MAPNA’s partnership with the national railway for strengthening the industry.

“We hope that by drawing on the collective knowledge of MAPNA and railway experts, we can make the best decisions and see tangible improvements in operations,” he said.

Zakari expressed optimism about joint efforts to enhance the rail fleet, especially in locomotive supply and maintenance.

He also inspected the MAPNA-managed railways training center, where he examined the locomotive simulator, issuing instructions for the center’s full operational use after years of inactivity.

The center operates under the supervision of MAPNA Railway Operation Development & Maintenance Company.
