MAPNA Group’s second wind farm was put into operation on Wednesday, November 28, 2019, in a ceremony attended by Minister of Power Reza Ardakanian and MAPNA Group President Abbas Aliabadi.
President Hassan Rouhani inaugurated the wind farm via video conferencing.
Located on the outskirts of Mianeh in East Azerbaijan Province, the project was fully constructed and financed by MAPNA Group.
The farm consists of twenty wind turbines with a capacity of 2.5 MWs each.
The majority of components installed in the farm have been manufactured by MAPNA Group factories. The project was also entirely financed by MAPNA Group.
A groundbreaking environment-friendly project, Aqkand wind farm will sell the power it generates to the Ministry of Power via a power purchase agreement (PPA).
MAPNA Group’s first wind farm, located in Kahak in Qazvin Province, is already in operation with a capacity of 150 MWs.
