The fifth unit of Damavand Gas Power Plant entered service at 13:55 on September 13, 2025, connecting successfully to the national electricity network. This came during one of the year’s peak demand periods.
The plant, located in the Asaluyeh region of Bushehr Province, is under the responsibility of MAPNA Special Projects Construction & Development Co. (MD-3). The project is executed under EPCCF terms — Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, and Financing.
With this synchronization, the new 183 MW unit helps address gaps in power supply and improve system reliability. Since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21, 2025), MAPNA’s MD-3 has launched 630 MW of new power capacity.
This latest unit at Damavand is considered a milestone in the efforts of MD-3, also marking the completion of another phase in MAPNA’s plan to reinforce Iran’s electricity grid infrastructure.
