On September 30, 2025, MAPNA Group’s President joined representatives from charity and education bodies to formalize an agreement to finish construction of the boys’ technical school in Iranshahr.
The gathering underscored MAPNA’s commitment to both technical training and social responsibility in one of Iran’s more underserved provinces.
MAPNA, together with the Enfaq Charity Institute, the province’s school renovation authority, the Board of School-Building Benefactors, and Mehr Giti Institute, is spearheading the school’s completion. The project was initiated in 2020 using state funding, and by September 2025, it had reached about 65 percent physical progress.
The technical school spans more than 5,100 square meters of indoor area over three floors, plus about 4,000 square meters of grounds. It is designed to serve over 360 students.
Facilities will include 12 classrooms, four heavy workshops (in automotive mechanics, casting, building systems, and household appliances), four lighter workshops (in building electricity, industrial electricity, and electronics), a computer lab, library, and other educational spaces.
Funding for completing the project will come from MAPNA’s social responsibility budget and its subsidiaries, along with donations from charitable sources and the Enfaq Institute.
Vocational education can boost employment
At the signing ceremony, MAPNA President Mohammad Owliya stressed that the conglomerate pursues two core goals: developing future technical skills and fulfilling its social responsibility in Sistan and Baluchestan.
He said the emphasis on vocational education can help generate employment and positive cultural impact.
He also noted that many charitable and school-building institutes are active in the province, and that MAPNA participates via the Enfaq scheme, which operates with staff contributions, publicly beneficial budgets, and shareholder approval.
He added that MAPNA has projects across the province — in Chabahar, Makran, and Iranshahr — as part of its social duty.
He warned that in the national education system, hands-on training has weakened and overemphasis on theoretical teaching and credentialism has harmed employment and industry. He expressed hope that MAPNA’s intervention would yield a positive, forward-looking effect.
MAPNA’s initiative welcomed
Abbas Shahraki, head of the provincial school-building benefactors’ body, welcomed MAPNA’s assumption of responsibility for completing Dar al-Funun.
He said roughly half the schools in the province have been built by NGOs and charitable bodies. He lamented that deficient practical training has become more visible in recent years.
With petrochemical and steel industries expected to expand in Chabahar, he said technical and vocational schools must be built and equipped. He noted that his organisation is collaborating closely with industry and universities.
Zahra Gitinezhad, Mehr Giti’s director, spoke about the founding of her institute to promote children’s education.
She described how the charity builds and equips standard educational spaces in less advantaged regions and expressed hope that the partnership would successfully complete and equip the Dar al-Funun school.
At the close of the event, representatives from MAPNA, Enfaq, the benefactors’ board, the provincial school construction authority, and Mehr Giti Institute signed the contract to finish the Dar al-Funun technical school.

MAPNA’s social responsibility profile

Its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes are implemented according to international standards and benchmarks.
In 2025, MAPNA Power Plants Construction & Development Company (MD-1), a subsidiary of the MAPNA Group specializing in power plant construction and development, received a bronze trophy from the Iranian Management Association for strong performance in social responsibility.
