MAPNA Participates in 21st WATEX to Showcase Capabilities in Water Industry

MAPNA Group participated in the 21st International Water and Wastewater Industry Exhibition (WATEX) in Tehran to introduce its water-sector business, technical capabilities and ongoing national projects.

The four-day exhibition is being held at the Tehran International Permanent Fairground, where MAPNA is hosting visitors, researchers, students and public- and private-sector companies in Hall 44 until December 6.

The event is recognized as Iran’s largest gathering of water-industry actors and features 150 domestic and four international companies from Germany, China and Italy.

On the opening day, Iran’s Minister of Energy Abbas Aliabadi visited MAPNA’s booth. During the visit, a memorandum of understanding was signed between MAPNA Group and Industries and Mines Water Supply Company (IMWASCO)

The agreement covers the design, engineering, material and equipment supply, construction and installation of seven pumping stations for the national project to transfer water from the Gulf of Oman to the eastern provinces.

MAPNA used the expo to present several of its major water projects.

These include the Lian Bushehr desalination plant using reverse osmosis technology, the combined water-and-power project on Qeshm Island based on thermal MED technology, the water treatment and recycling system implemented at Esfahan Steel Company, the innovative smart greenhouse project in Genaveh known as AGREED, and MAPNA’s new container-type modular water treatment units supported by solar power.

Throughout the exhibition, MAPNA representatives are engaging with industry specialists to discuss new approaches to water governance, efficiency and integrated water-energy planning—an increasingly urgent priority as Iran faces long-term water stress.

The expo aims to track the latest global trends, explore innovative solutions and promote collaboration among technology developers, contractors, consultants, start-ups and senior decision-makers across the water sector.
