MAPNA West Karun Power Generation Company

MAPNA West Karun Power Generation Company is in charge of construction and operation of West Karun Central Power Plant, a combined cycle power plant with a capacity of 492 MWs.

It is the first MAPNA-owned private power plant that sells electricity to oil & gas industries. The contract for construction of the power plant was signed in summer of 2012 under a BOO scheme in three phases. Supplying power required for four oil fields west of Karun River is a main mission of the project. The power plant is located 50 kilometers southwest of Ahwaz, center of Khuzestan province.
