Khorramshahr Gas Power Plant

Project Specifications

Khorramshahr Gas Power Plant consists of four gas units with a capacity of 162 MW each (648 MW in total) at ISO conditions in which four V94.2 gas turbines of MAPNA NIAM Plan have been used.

The power plant is located on the old Khorramshahr-Ahvaz Road in the industrial township and adjacent to the 132 kV Substation. The first and second units of the power plant have been permanently delivered to the client and the third and fourth units have been delivered on provisional basis.

The owner of Khorramshahr Gas Power Plant and its client is Saba Power Industry and Energy Company and the client consultant is Niroo Consulting Engineers Company. The main contractor of the project is a consortium comprising MAPNA International Company and MAPNA MD-1 Company.

The date for land delivery and start of construction operations of Khorramshahr Gas Power Plant by MAPNA MD-1Company was 19 May 2007 and the first unit of the power plant was synchronized on 18 March 2009.

Meanwhile, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of the substation inside the power plant with a capacity of 400 kV has been the responsibility of MAPNA MD-1 Company. On the other hand, based on the approved strategy, this project has been implemented within the framework of 18 contracts with subcontractors in engineering, procurement and construction sections.

One of the honors of this project is setting a record in maximum annual progress of a project with 66% of progress in 2008.

In addition, upon a request from the client MAPNA Group has undertaken development of Khorramshahr Power Plant through operation of the fifth and sixth units.
