Provision of a 300-Foot Offshore Drilling Rig for Drilling Wells in Phases 11 and 12 of South Pars Gas Field
This project involves the provision and operation of the offshore drilling rig MD-1 for drilling and completing wells in Phases 11 and 12 of the South Pars Gas Field.
Project Overview
This project involves the provision and operation of the offshore drilling rig MD-1 for drilling and completing wells in Phases 11 and 12 of the South Pars Gas Field.
The MD-1 rig successfully carried out drilling operations under challenging offshore conditions and, following the completion of Phase 11, underwent maintenance and refurbishment of its equipment in preparation for Phase 12.
The project demonstrates MAPNA Group’s technical and managerial capabilities in offshore drilling, complex equipment management, and adherence to operational and safety standards in sensitive environments.
Production Capacity
The project includes the drilling and completion of four 8-1/2-inch wells to sustain production operations from the field.
Technical Specifications
After demobilization from Platform B of Phase 11 and due to the unavailability of Platform C of Phase 12, repairs and refurbishment of certain rig tools and equipment were carried out. Finally, upon the client’s notification in early 2023, preparations and necessary arrangements were made for transferring the rig to Platform C of Phase 12, considering weather conditions.
Current Project Status
Drilling operations for Phase 11 were successfully completed, and the MD-1 rig, following maintenance and preparation, was made ready for continued operations in Phase 12.
