MAPNA Group held its Sixth Research and Innovation conference on Thursday, May 27, 2016.

According to Dr. Aliabadi, CEO of MAPNA Group, “MAPNA’s future relies on research and development ” . He stated that “Although we will continue expanding our international ties and collaboration with global market and international companies, our interest in R&D will remain unchanged.”

Aliabadi also announced the establishment of a think-tank in MAPNA Group whose members will consist of academic scholars in addition to some staff of MAPNA.

Marcus Bayegan, former Chief Technology Officer of the Swiss company, ABB, also addressed attendees of MAPNA conference on Thursday. Bayegan focused on best practices in management of technology with a focus on integrated management of technology, corporate research, and the need for a technology road map, within his speech.

Research associate at University of Texas at Austin, Darius Mahdjoubi also spoke at MAPNA R&D conference. Mahdjoubi dedicated his speech to innovation and the role of research and development. He emphasized the need to distinguish between tool, technic and technology and the necessity of master innovation at all three levels.

A report on R&D performance of MAPNA subsidiaries was presented later, following  with MAPNA Turbine Engineering and Manufacturing Company (TUGA) was awarded the first prize as leading MAPNA company in research and development.
