MAPNA Group Adds Four Wells to Danan Oil Field to Enhance Oil Output

MAPNA Oil and Gas Development Company, a subsidiary of MAPNA Group, has increased Danan oil field’s daily oil production capacity to 10,000 barrels by completing four new wells.

The four wells, numbered E004N, E025N, W005S, and E045S, were the last ones of the 11-well project that MAPNA Group was contracted to carry out by the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company in January 2019.

The four wells were completed and handed over to the contractor on November 7 and 17, 2023.

MAPNA Oil and Gas Development Company also connected six wells, including the four new ones, to a new pipeline, which transfers the oil to the Danan separator unit.

Danan oil field is located in Ilam province, west of Iran.

MAPNA Drilling Company was in charge of all the engineering, procurement and drilling (EPD) operations of the project.

MAPNA Group’s tasks also include the design and execution of acid fracturing operations, and geophysical services (3D seismic survey, data processing, and interpretation) in an area of 230 square kilometers, as well as skid mounted desalination with a capacity of 10,000 bpd, and construction of a 55-km pipeline.

MAPNA Group has achieved a record speed in completing the project, compared to 27 other similar projects that aim to improve oil recovery (IOR) and started around the same time.

Danan oil field was discovered in 2007 and started production in 2014. The field’s oil is transferred to Dehloran processing unit for sweetening and compression, before being sent to Cheshmeh Khosh desalination complex via a 16-inch pipeline with a length of 52 kilometers.
