Iranian Energy Minister Ali Akbar Mehrabian paid a visit to the subsidiary companies of MAPNA Group in Alborz Province on April 30th, 2024.
Addressing MAPNA Group managers and employees, he said that the conglomerate has distinguished itself through its exceptional management, expert staff, technicians, and skilled workers which has earned MAPNA a strong reputation among the public.
As one of the country’s “industrial pride,” the MAPNA Group plays a pivotal role in executing power plant operations both domestically and internationally, the minister added.
Over the years, MAPNA Group has kept pace with global advancements by continually updating its engineering and technological knowledge which has enabled it to effectively meet the country’s energy requirements, he said.
MAPNA Group undertakes numerous projects, including the export of technical and engineering services, he stressed.
Mehrabian hoped that all electricity generated by our power plants to be traded on the stock market. “As a leader in many areas, we hope that MAPNA would pioneer this initiative as well, presenting power generation as a profitable and appealing investment opportunity.”
Elsewhere, the minister said that with the introduction of the gas generator system, the country has achieved self-sufficiency in the entire power plant industry and the final piece of the puzzle in Iran’s power plant construction was put in place with the assistance of our domestic experts.
He also pointed to the efforts by the ministry to tackle the summer peak consumption, saying, “In the past three years, we have implemented specific programs to manage electricity consumption during the summer. Two years ago, we designed and executed 100 measures, followed by 140 measures last year, and 180 measures for this year’s hot season.”
The Ministry of Energy’s efforts in this area include the expansion of transmission and distribution networks, increasing the number of substations, and enhancing the capacity and efficiency of the country’s power plants, both in the thermal and electric sectors, among others, he said.
