Unit I of Ardakan Power Plant Synchronized to Grid in Record Time

Gas Unit I of Ardakan (Chadormalu) Combined Cycle Power Plant was synchronized to the grid on June 20, 2024.

The project was completed in a record time of nine months.

The power plant’s construction technology and the procurement of its principal equipment have been indigenously developed, leveraging the full potential of MAPNA Group’s manufacturing capabilities.

The project plays a pivotal role in the Chadormalu region’s industrial infrastructure, contributing to job creation and fostering industrial growth.

It will also contribute to energy stability in the region, significantly reducing power outages, especially during periods of high demand.

Located in Ardakan, Yazd province, the power plant comprises a 546 MW combined cycle block.

This includes two gas units, each with a capacity of 183 MW, and a steam unit rated at 180 MW, along with two MGT70-3 gas turbines, an air-cooled condenser (ACC) system, and a heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) equipped with an auxiliary burner.

Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Company is the client of the project and Moshanir serves as the consultant and supervisor.

Following this integration, the total number of power plant units synchronized by MAPNA Combined Cycle Power Plants Construction and Development Company (MD-2) has reached 123 units, cumulatively generating 19,304 MW of power.
