MAPNA Receives PAC for 4th Gas Unit of Semnan Power Plant MAPNA Power Plants Construction & Development Company (MD-1) received a provisional acceptance certificate (PAC) for the fourth gas unit of Semnan Power Plant, also known as the second unit of its Phase II, on December 4, 2024.

MAPNA Power Plants Construction & Development Company (MD-1) received a provisional acceptance certificate (PAC) for the fourth gas unit of Semnan Power Plant, also known as the second unit of its Phase II, on December 4, 2024.

Considering the 300 kW consumption pattern for regular customers, over 395,000 households will benefit from the production capacity of this unit.

The Semnan Gas Power Plant includes two MAP2B gas turbines, each with a capacity of 183 MW (totaling 366 MW) in ISO conditions.

The plant is located on kilometer 10 of the Semnan-Damghan road. The first phase of the plant, which consisted of two gas units with a capacity of 162 MW each, was launched in 2009 and synchronized to the grid in 2010 by MD-1.

The capacity of the Semnan Power Plant substation is 400 kV, and the engineering, equipment procurement, and construction of the substation fall within the employer’s scope of work.

MD-1 began the construction of this plant 2009 and the first unit was synchronized with the grid two years later.

The contract for the second phase of Semnan Power Plant was signed on December 20, 2021, between MAPNA Group and Mines and Metals Development Investment Company (MMDIC), with Saman Semnan Power Generation Company as the client.

The contract is an EPC deal that covers the design, engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning of two advanced gas units.

It is worth noting that with the temporary delivery of this unit, the total number of temporarily delivered units by MD-1 rises to 155 units, with a total capacity of 21,284 MW.
