Iraq Electricity Minister Visits MAPNA Group

Mr. Khatteeb, who was led an entourage of senior ministerial officials, visited MAPNA Group factories on the outskirts of Karaj, west of Tehran.
Received by MAPNA Group President Abbas Aliabadi, Khatteeb was acquainted with the diverse activities of MAPNA Group in EPC, manufacturing, investment, and services in visiting four MAPNA companies of TUGA, PARTO, PARS, and MECO which specialized in engineering and manufacturing of turbines, blades and vanes, generators, and control systems respectively.
Khatteeb praised MAPNA Group’s technological achievements, expressing hope that the company’s products could be used in Iraq’s energy infrastructures of Iraq. He also suggested technology transfer and collaboration between Iran and Iraq for joint production of power industry equipment.
MAPNA President Abbas Aliabadi also stated that MAPNA Group is ready to support Iraq’s power sector in various ways, including construction of power plants in the neighboring country.
“There are also no problems for technology transfer and provision of power plant services” he added.
MAPNA Group has been active in Iraq’s power market since mid-2000s. The corporation has constructed two power plants of Haidariya (Najaf) and al-Sadr (Baghdad).
MAPNA is currently constructing a 3000 megawatt combined cycle power plant in Rumaila, in the vicinity of Basra, Iraq’s second largest city.
