MAPNA OFFICIALS MAP OUT ENERGY INDUSTRY DEMANDS IN IRAN 2017 PETROCONFEX

MAPNA Group senior officials sketched out their viewpoints on demands and prospects of Iran’s energy industry during Iran Petroleum Conference held in Tehran from January 30 to February 1 in Tehran, Iran.

The conference, holding its inaugural round, brought together Iranian and international companies active in the energy industry to discuss the future of Iran’s oil & gas sector in the light of Iran’s opening up to the international market.

From MAPNA Group, CEO and Chairman Abbas Aliabadi, and CEO of the Oil & Gas Division Vahid Moayyer, spoke during the three-day conference in Tehran.

Abbas Aliabadi, who served as keynote speaker of the conference’s opening ceremony, expressed hope that Iran Petroleum Conference turn into a platform for reviewing, decision-making, and policy-setting regarding Iran’s energy industry.

Addressing the significant growth of Iran’s industrial and scientific capabilities during the past decade, Aliabadi called strategic partnership, sharing international markets, and technology transfer the desirable form of collaboration between Iranian companies and their international counterparts. MAPNA CEO listed a number of the group’s achievements, both in terms of technological knowhow and project management, to demonstrate the company’s ability to serve as a reliable partner for international companies.

Abbas Aliabadi also called for smart direction of finance and foreign investment towards domains where there was real demand, and where it could create more jobs for the Iranian workforce.

Speaking on the second day of Iran 2017 Petroconfex, CEO of MAPNA Group’s Oil & Gas Division Vahid Moayyer touched on Iran’s demands in the field of oil & gas industry.

Moayyer, who was attending an expert panel on “global market for oil products and international trade”, spoke on the importance of investment and technology transfer in collaboration with international partners.

He pointed to low price of feedstock and high added value as incentives that could attract investment towards Iran’s energy sector. Moayyer dubbed equal treatment of domestic and international contractors and investors, provision of sovereign guarantee, and transparency in regulations as factors that would encourage investment in the oil & gas industry.

The Iran Petroleum Conference has been organized by a number of non-governmental associations in Iran’s energy sector, including  Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines (ICCIM), Association of Petroleum Industry Engineering and Construction Companies (APEC), Society of Iranian Petroleum Industry Equipment Manufacturers (S.I.P.I.E.M), Iran Industrial Equipment Manufacturers Association (SATSA), Iranian Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Products Exporters’ Union (OPEX), International Consultants and Contractors Association of Iran (ICCA), Engineering and Construction Companies Association (ECCA) and Association Petrochemical Industry Corporation (APIC).
