Tehran’s Metro Line 6 opened three news stations with MAPNA Rail Construction and Development Company playing a key role.
The new stations are “Bahar Shiraz” (in the central section), “Ayatollah Kashani” and “Shohadaye Kan” (both in the northern section).
The stations were inaugurated in a ceremony attended by Tehran Mayor Alireza Zakani and Chairman of Tehran City Council Mehdi Chamran on March 16, 2024.
The Tehran Metro Line 6 project commenced in early 2017 with the involvement of MAPNA Group, SABIR International Co., and Shahr Bank. Three phases of the project have already been implemented.
MAPNA Group’s involvement in the Tehran Metro Line 6 project includes design, engineering, procurement of main equipment and spare parts, transportation, installation, test and commissioning, preparation of engineering documents, and personnel training for operation.
It also includes power supply equipment, control and signal systems, facilities, telecommunication infrastructure, rail lines, escalators, elevators, inter-tunnel air conditioners and ventilators, entrance gates, and the SCADA system. Once fully operational, Tehran Metro Line 6 will give the capital’s subway system the longest route in Iran. The line will stretch over 31 kilometers with 27 stations, starting from Sulqan in the northwest and ending in Dolat-Abad district in the southeast. In further stages, Line 6 will expand to Shah Abdol-Azim Shrine in the ancient district of Rey to the south of the city, becoming the longest subway route in the Middle East with 38 kilometers of length.
