This pilot project, implemented in Nazarabad County, Alborz Province, marks an advancement in Iran’s digital agriculture and smart resource management.
The smart greenhouse is integrated with the MAPNA MIND platform, allowing remote monitoring and control of environmental parameters. This provides an optimized system for irrigation management and enhances agricultural efficiency.
A key achievement of this initiative is the deployment of Iran’s first indigenous IoT platform, utilizing LoRaWAN technology, which enables long-range, low-power communication for smart agricultural sensors.
Knowledge-based companies have also played a crucial role in this initiative.
Developed in collaboration with the Sharif University Science and Technology Park, the greenhouse is equipped with intelligent hydroponic technology, enabling automated nutrient supply and environmental monitoring via IoT sensors.
Furthermore, Bank Keshavarzi Iran has expressed readiness to provide financial support for the expansion of smart greenhouses.
LoRaWAN, as a long-range, low-power communication technology, ensures data transmission even in weak signal conditions. Devices based on this technology can operate for several years on a single battery, paving the way for the rapid growth of smart and sustainable agriculture across the country.
The project not only optimizes agricultural resource management but also serves as a model for the nationwide expansion of digital agriculture.
During the inauguration ceremony, Mohammad Jafarpoor, CEO of Telecommunication Company of Iran, expressed his satisfaction with the establishment of the smart greenhouse, stating that the project aligns with the development of smart industries and the application of IoT technology in agriculture.
Additionally, Mohammad Hossein Rafan, CEO of MECO, described this initiative as a key step towards achieving the Fourth Industrial Revolution and advancing indigenous smart platforms.
What is MAPNA MIND?
MAPNA MIND is an Internet of Things (IoT)-based platform developed by MAPNA Group to facilitate the connection of equipment and experts, enabling the collection and processing of large amounts of data. This platform aims to decentralize decision-making processes and provide effective resources for users, aligning with the principles of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
The Fourth Industrial Revolution is characterized by integrating emerging technologies such as robotics, artificial intelligence, and IoT into various fields, leading to fundamental changes in management and production systems. MAPNA MIND embodies this integration by offering a cloud-based solution that enhances monitoring and management across industries.
