Reza Rahmani pointed to seven active wagon and locomotive manufacturing companies as evidence of the high status of rail transportation in Iran’s economy. He called MAPNA Group ‘a company of global class’ that enjoys a knowledge-based mindset. Minister of Industry supported increasing share of local companies in manufacture of basic commodities, in line with the government’s ‘make in Iran’ campaign.
Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mohammad Eslami also praised MAPNA for its efforts to localize and develop energy and transportation industries. Eslami added that his ministry championed maximum exploitation of local products, including locomotives and wagons.
