The two sides discussed ways to expand collaboration in Lebanon’s power industry.

Addressing the country’s need to increase its power generation capacity, advisor to Lebanon’s Minister of Energy and Water Zakaria Rammal expressed interest in collaboration with MAPNA.

MAPNA Investment Projects CEO, Khalil Behbahani also welcomed participation in Lebanon’s power projects. Referring to the country’s potential for investment, Behbahani added that MAPNA is ready to cooperate not only as IPP (independent power producer), but also service provider for Lebanon’s power sector.

Advisor to Lebanon’s Minister of Economy and Trade Zaher Azoury also expressed interest in using MAPNA’s knowhow and successful experiences in the power industry. “Lebanon has plans to pave the ground for international participation in power sector” Azoury said.

Power shortages have been a major problem for the country in the recent years, leading to massive blackouts.
